Measurement Activities: In grade one, we do not put a lot of emphasis on actual units of measurement. Instead we start with 'non-standard' units. This can be anything you have on hand. At school we would have used paper clips, blocks, and other manipulatives. At home you could use beans, goldfish crackers or legos. Of course, if you wish to use a standard form of measurement such as a ruler or tape measure, feel free to do so. Below I will copy some links to sites which include activities to help teach measurement at home. I have tried to find a variety of activities for the different learning styles and preferences.
Measurement Scavenger Hunt: You could modify this to include objects you would find indoors (considering all of the snow we have). They use a ruler in this activity which you can use if you wish or you can have them measure with non standard units instead. https://creativefamilyfun.net/backyard-measurement-scavenger-hunt/
